A Tale of Necessary Thorns

“Gardens and flowers have a way of bringing people together, drawing them from their homes.”

“Don’t be ashamed to weep; ’tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.”

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
― Bil Keane

“When it was dark, you always carried the sun in your hand for me.”

The thorn that protects the rose, or the thorns that define the cacti, are so similar to the darkness the sometimes invades our path to destiny. Wangari Mathai’s wisdom reminds us that “None of us can control every situation we find ourselves in. What we can control is how we react when things turn against us. A stumble is only one step in the long path we walk and dwelling on it only postpones the completion of our journey. Every person who has ever achieved anything has been knocked down many times.”
Hope you are inspired to find strength in your darkest times.
With love and gratitude,
~Angela Davids~
